Transforming the Role of Simulation in New Product Development. Our 2 year collaborative R&D project kicks off this month
This month, Simpact formally kicked off the project with partners University of Warwick and a major armour systems manufacturer. The project will run over two years and involves a total investment exceeding £1M.
The unique combination of Simpact's advanced modelling capabilities and the state-of-the-art metrology and visualisation facilities at the University of Warwick will help facilitate the outputs of the project. The project will (1) transform the accuracy and communication of impact simulation optimising transient models through correlation with real world geometric and high speed video data, and (2) develop novel and innovative methods for visualising and interacting with simulation outputs.
This will significantly improve confidence and understanding in end users. Simpact's existing customer base are already benefiting from the activities of the project which will also be accessible to a wider audience and maximising CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) value in product development.
